Up Fur a Swim

They might look like something from a Flintstones catwalk show but these fur-trimmed swimming costumes are rocking the fashion world in the Czech Republic - where winter temperatures get down to minus 20 Celsius.

Students from the Central School of Textile Arts in Usti nad Orlici, the Czech Republic, say they were inspired by Inuit clothing when they came up with the designs for a fashion contest.

One of the deseigners Iva Bartova explained: "They're made of wool, silk and fur. So when it’s not so warm it’s still possible to go out and swim with these designs."

"They’re practical but also feminine," she added.
