A mum and her three year old son astonished rescuers when they survived after a BMW flew through the roof of their home in a high speed crash.

The car's 17-year-old driver died instantly in the smash and two passengers were seriously injured when the car careered out of control on the way home from a nightclub in Lodz, Poland.

Mum Agnieszka Laszynski, 38, and her three-year-old son Michalek - both treated for shock - were asleep in bed when the car flew through their roof coming to a halt just inches from their beds.

"There was a tremendous bang like an earthquake or something and then we were staring at a car and what was left of our home," she said.
