A few beers left Chinese man Shen Mao feeling a little light-headed so he stripped off naked and climbed on top of this light covered bridge in Shenyang city, the capital of northeast China’s Liaoning province.

The 38-year-old refused to come down, and police were called to supervise traffic as drivers on a nearby road slowed down to peer at the nude man.

A police spokesman said: "He was with pals and they had been drinking – on the way home he told them he wanted to enjoy the fresh air and the view, so he scrambled up onto the bridge after stripping off.

"Unfortunately the drink had not done much for his sense of balance and he fell-off, breaking his ribs."

He faces charges of being drunk and disorderly, indecent exposure and disrupting traffic and is likely to be fined.
