Unhappy camper Hans Bacher got a rude awakening when a lorry ripped off the side of his motorhome as he slept in a layby.
Bacher, 56, had parked up after feeling drowsy while driving the motor caravan through Achim, Germany, on his way home from a holiday.
But he'd barely dropped off to sleep when a 24-year-old trucker veered too close to the side of the road and tore the camper wide open.
"He wasn't injured but he was extremely shocked. He should really have been on a campsite and I'm afraid his caravan is a write off," said one officer.
