High spirits

Kathryn Quinn

Police grounded a passenger plane after the entire crew turned up too drunk to fly.

Both pilots and all the stewardesses on the Donbassaero jet were detained when worried passengers called police as they staggered onto the plane in Simferopol, in the Ukraine.

Tests found that all of them were at least 10 times over the drink drive limit, say police.

One of the passengers was the Ukrainian deputy Attorney General Tatiana Kornikova who has launched an investigation into air safety.
