A pensioner who tried to incinerate a litter of puppies in an oven is facing animal cruelty charges, say police.

Neighbours in Gdansk, Poland, called police when they heard the puppies whimpering and Jacek Karnowski, 67, was caught red handed stoking up the wood burning stove while the young dogs struggled to get out of a sack.
