A kidnap gang who kept a teenager hostage in an underground cell for nearly two weeks threatened to kill him unless his wealthy father handed over a 200,000 GBP ransom.

The 19-year-old boy was snatched and drugged on his way to school in Poznan, Poland, and kept locked in a tiny cell lit by a single bare bulb in the DIY dungeon.

Now three men - identified by police only as Hubert N., Patrik K., and Jacek N - are facing 25 years behind bars after neighbours tipped off police about suspicious comings and goings at the kidnappers' hideaway.

Two women and another man - accused of aiding the kidnap - were also arrested.
Police spokesman Andrzej Borowiak said: "After receiving specific intelligence, officers entered the property where they found the entrance to the hidden underground bunker.

"Inside they found the kidnap victim.

"Six people have been arrested including two women.

"The boy has been returned to his parents."
